St Matthew’s Collegiate School in Masterton has a proud history of academic achievement and excellence. We offer a range of scholarships to encourage and reward academic excellence, to attract and retain preference students, and to assist high-achieving students who will benefit from financial support.

Awards do not require application. Awards are decided by an academic panel.

The St Matthew’s Collegiate School Old Girls’ “Endeavour” Grant

Open for 2024 applicants

The St Matthew’s Collegiate School Old Girls’ “Endeavour” Grant aims to financially assist an old girl, or the widower of an old girl, to send their daughter to St Matthew’s Collegiate School. The Grant is for the daughter of an Old Girl who attended St Matthew’s Collegiate School for a minimum of 2 full school years. The Old Girl must be a fully paid SMOGA Member.
The Grant’s Terms and Conditions require that the daughter must already have a position confirmed, as a daygirl or boarder, for the year of the Application.
The Grant will only be awarded in years when there are sufficient funds in the St Matthew’s Collegiate School Old Girls “Endeavour” Grant Fund.

The Grant value is for a minimum of $2,500 per annum.

Academic Awards – no application required

These awards are presented to existing students who achieve at the highest levels.

St Matthew’s Year 7 and 9 Academic Awards – no application required

There are two awards available- one at year 7 and one at year 9- based on academic achievement and effort grades at the end of term one only. The award is for the student’s first year of schooling to the value of $500.

Prelude Art Award – no application required

The Prelude Art Award is presented to a student in recognition of the Centennial Celebration which saw the creation of the Prelude Sculpture by renowned artist Virginia King. The award is to a student who has demonstrated promise and excellence in visual art.

The award is valued at $500.

Sports Scholarship – application required (see button below)

One scholarship is available each year for girls who have great sporting talent and a demonstrable record of sporting achievement. Recipients will be expected to excel in their chosen sport and make a broader contribution to sport at St Matthew’s.

Scholarship value is $1500 for one year.

Arts Scholarship – application required (see button below)

One scholarship is available each year for girls who have great artistic ability (in for example visual art or painting) and demonstrate record of achievement.

Scholarship value is $1500 for one year.

Cultural Scholarship – application required (see button below)

One scholarship is available each year for girls who have great ability in their chosen cultural activity (which could include musicianship or stage performance etc) and demonstrate record of achievement.

Scholarship value is $1500 for one year.
